Benefits of a Self-Service Dog Wash
Below are some of the top benefits of using a self-serve dog wash station for bathing your dog:
You Feel Comfortable Grooming Your Dog
Many dog owners feel comfortable grooming their dog and even prefer it. As a pet parent, you know your dog and you know what makes them feel comfortable and what makes them uneasy. While our professionally trained and certified dog groomers will always take the time to talk with you about your pet’s health, history, characteristics, and grooming needs, many dog owners simply prefer to handle the grooming themselves because they are used to doing it. When being groomed, some dogs get restless and feel uneasy or anxious about all of the commotion that comes along with a dog washing. This can make the owner feel uneasy, too, which is often a reason why dog owners prefer to groom their pet, and take the time to learn best practices for doing so. Having access to a safe and comfortable dog washing and grooming atmosphere with the proper equipment simply makes the entire process better for both the owner and the pup.
Less Stressful for Your Dog
Dog washing in a bathtub at home can turn into a nightmare. When washing your dog at home, there are a number of triggers that can stress your dog out and make them feel anxious. For one, bathtub surfaces are not designed for your dog’s paws, and they become slippery and dangerous for you and your pet. What’s more, the loud sound of water rushing from your bathtub faucet may frighten them, and if they aren’t a water-loving dog breed, they might get nervous standing in water while you bathe them. Using a self-service dog wash suite, however, provides a safe, stainless-steel tub with a dog mat so your dog’s feet don’t slide around while you wash them. The water drains easily to limit the amount of standing water in the bath. The flexible sprayers make it easier and more efficient to thoroughly rinse the soap from their coat, which is a much better alternative to dumping water on your dog over and over to remove the soap. A self dog wash suite is meant to be comfortable for your dog to make the dog washing process a lot stressful for you and your pup.
No Clogged Plumbing
When you wash your dog in your bathtub at home, all the loose hair — whether dense or fine — that goes down the drain can clog the pipes in your bathtub plumbing. If you wash them frequently, you may be looking at some serious pet hair buildup in your pipes, which could lead to expensive plumbing services to remedy the clog. When you use our self-service dog wash in Fort Collins and Greeley, you don’t have to worry about clogging any pipes in your home!
Less Mess to Clean Up
Washing your dog at home is messy business. And let’s face it — nobody enjoys cleaning their bathroom, especially one that is covered in dog hair left over from a dog washing. Dogs, even those who love water, will shake the water off of their coat several times during a wash, creating somewhat of a tidal wave to come flying off of their fur, soaking anything in its path. While this will definitely get you wet, this instinctive behavior can dampen your bathroom surfaces, as well as your furniture and belongings in other rooms if they escape the bathroom before being completely dried. When you come in to use our dog washing station at The Dog Pawlour, all you need to clean is your pup! Leave the cleanup to us so you can enjoy spending some quality time with your furry friend, rather than spending an hour or longer cleaning up your bathroom after giving your dog a bath.
Access to Expert Dog Grooming Supplies
Dog washing requires some essential supplies that you may not have access to when washing them at home. Sure, you can use a store-bought shampoo to wash them with, but these don’t always have the best ingredients in them. And do you really want to use your nice towels to dry off your dog? Brushes are also very important for dog washing and grooming. While you may have access to some of these supplies at home, you’ll want to have the best selection of grooming supplies get your pup clean, soft, and shiny. For each and every self-service dog wash at The Dog Pawlour, we provide you with an assortment of shampoo, pro-grade grooming brushes, a supply of soft and fluffy towels, and unlimited access to our industrial-grade blow dryers. All of these will help nourish your dog’s skin and coat while getting them clean and moisturized. Of course, you can always bring in your own dog washing and grooming supplies too. And if you need a little something extra for your dog’s day at the doggie spa, you can shop for grooming supplies and cute outfits for dogs in The Dog Pawlour® Marketplace at our Greeley location.
Ergonomic Dog Wash Stations
If you’ve washed your dog in a bathtub at home, you’ve probably experienced pain and aches in your back and arms. Oftentimes, dog parents end up sitting with their knees on the floor or bent over their dog awkwardly while they clean their pet, and this is just no good for anyone’s back. Skip the aches and pains and bring your dog in for a self-service dog wash in a tub that is placed at a reasonable height, allowing you to wash your pup without being hunched over in a painful posture. Our flexible sprayers make it easy to get those hard-to-reach places when rinsing the shampoo off of your dog.
Plenty of Space
While space may be limited in your bathroom and home for dog grooming, each of our pet washing suites is spacious and private. This can make it easier for you to maneuver as you wash your dog, and the roomy pet wash suites can even make your dog more comfortable for their grooming.
Affordable and Convenient
Perhaps one of the best benefits of a self-service dog wash is that it makes dog grooming affordable for just about any budget. While we strive to make all of our dog grooming services affordable for our dog lovers in our Northern Colorado communities, we understand that a self-serve dog wash may be the best option because it is not only cost-effective, but also convenient. At The Dog Pawlour in Greeley and Fort Collins, you never have to make an appointment to use our dog washing stations. We offer this dog wash service on a first come, first serve basis at an affordable price point. This means you can bring your pup in for a washing anytime we are open. If you have to wait a few minutes for a dog washing station to open, you and your furry friend can make yourselves at home or shop in The Dog Pawlour® Marketplace in our Greeley location while you wait.

What’s great about The Dog Pawlour is that even if you come in to use our self-serve dog wash, our friendly team of dog groomers will be there to assist you with any questions you have, or if you need assistance getting your dog in or out of the doggie bathtub. When you and your pup come in for a dog washing, you can rest assured that there will always be a knowledgeable DP team member there to help you.
Peace of Mind
Using our self-service dog wash can help pet parents feel more comfortable in knowing they can bathe their dog in a safe tub designed with dogs in mind. Rather than having to worry about your dog jumping out of your bathtub at home, slipping on unstable surfaces, or being doused in ice cold water from the faucet in your backyard, you can gain peace of mind in knowing your dog will be much safer and more comfortable getting bathed in a professional-grade dog grooming tub. At The Dog Pawlour, you will have access to all the tools you need for your pup’s bath. Plus, you can rest assured in knowing we only provide you with the best bathing tools, as well as all-natural shampoos and conditioners designed specifically for dogs.
